A sum of Rs. 4558 is divided among A, B and C such that A receives 20% more than C, and C receives 25% less than B. What is A's share in the amount ?
Answer: (c)
Let B get Rs. x.
Then C gets = 75% of $x = {3x}/4$
and A gets = 120% of ${3x}/4 = 120/100 × {3x}/4 = {9x}/10$
Now, ${9x}/10 + {3x}/4 + x = 4558$
⇒ ${53x}/20 = 4558 ⇒ x = {4558 × 20}/53$ = 1720
Hence, A's share = ${9x}/10$ = Rs. ${9 × 1720}/10$ = Rs. 1548
Akash scored 73 marks in subject A. He scored 56% marks in subject B and X marks in subject C. Maximum marks in each subject were 150. The overall percentage marks obtained by Akash in all the three subjects together were 54%. How many marks did he score in subject C?

Marks scored in subject B
= 150 × 56% = 84
Total marks scored in all the 3 subjects
= (150 × 3) × 54% = 243
Marks scored in subject C
= 243 – 73 – 84 = 86
The digit at unit place of a two-digit number is increased by 100% and the digit at ten places of the same number is increased by 50%. The new number thus formed is 19 more than the original number. What is the original number?

What is the number whose 20% is 30% of 40?
Answer: (c)
Let the number be x
According to question 20% of x = 30% of 40
${x × 20}/100 = {40 × 30}/100$
$x = {40 × 30}/20 = 60$
5% of income of A is equal to 15% of income of B and 10% of income of B is equal to 20% of income of C. If C's income is Rs. 2000, then the total income of A, B and C is :
Answer: (c)
$5/100 A = 15/100 B and 10/100 B = 20/100 C ⇒ A = 3B$ and
B = 2C = 2 × 2000 = 4000.
∴ A = 3 × 4000 = 12000.
Hence, A + B + C = (12000 + 4000 + 2000) = 18000.
